From 50-year-old dry-farmed, head-trained vines a top Howell Mountain, this wine speaks to Napa history and it’s roots in the old-school farming of “mixed-blacks” varietals of the 19th Century planted by immigrants who were the first to grow grapes in Napa Valley. The nose is redolent of black pepper, cherry blossoms and black berry. Plush and textured with a beautiful framework of Howell Mountain minerality and fine tannin. This has power and a lush core of dark fruit and red floral notes. Classic Howell Mountain Zin that is delicious now and will continue to age.
