A standout in this vintage. The old vine Cabernet at the Switchback Ridge vineyard performed superbly in 2022, producing a totally outstanding wine. A captivating aroma profile of vibrant-yet-brambly dark berries, violets, wild herbs and mineral draws you in. On the palate the texture is creamy, silky and rich – and while powerful has an energetic, weightless feel. Extremely satisfying for its wonderful range of flavors, plush texture and long complex finish.
Kelly Peterson is at the helm, steering her family’s legacy into its 109th harvest on their property. For over a decade, we’ve courted these grapes, asking our friend Kelly for the opportunity to someday make Cabernet from her family’s singular site - and finally it is here. We’ll almost here - you will have to wait until the Spring to receive it, but I assure you it will be worth the wait! The Switchback Cabernet is luxurious, powerful and wonderfully complex – a testament to impeccable farming and the well-drained soils of this site.
