2021 DAKOTA SHY CABERNET SAUVIGNON ATLAS
TASTING NOTES
At the base of Pritchard Hill in Napa Valley, Dakota Shy blends rich history with modern winemaking. Established in 1836, our estate features redwoods, magnolias, and olive groves. Acquired in 2014, it now produces exceptional wines from Napa Valley’s premier vineyards. Experience the perfect fusion of historical charm and winemaking excellence.
ATLAS
The Atlas Cabernet Sauvignon takes its name from the Titan god, Atlas, who bears the weight of the world and heavens on his shoulders. This remarkably powerful and nuanced Cabernet gets its character from a combination of soils and exposures from two vineyards. One sight is an exceptional southwest facing hillside-vineyard lies at 900 feet of elevation above Calistoga. Its soil is made up of fractured volcanic material that is extremely rocky and well drained and forces the vines to develop deep root systems. The other site, on the valley floor of Oakville, has classic, deep alluvial soils which provide the broad textural richness and dark fruits of this wine.
